Appointment Procedure
It is illegal to tattoo any persons under the age of 18… No exceptions. You will be asked to provide ID so make sure you bring it with you.

Most design work will require an initial consultation. This will need to be done in person with the artist you have chosen. Consultations can be done on most days, but you are encouraged to call ahead to be given appropriate times.

Please do not bring children with you to your appointment or consultation. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the studio. You are welcome to bring one person to your appointment, but keep in mind that they will have to wait in the reception area during your appointment.

Deposits

When making an appointment you will be required to leave a deposit. This is determined by the quote given to you. All quotes will be dependent on time. Once you have left money with the studio there are no refunds under any circumstances, so please be sure you are making the correct decision when booking your tattoo. You will be required to give us a minimum of a 7 working days notice (ONLY via phone or in person) prior to your appointment date to rearrange the appointment. Failure to give us the required amount of notice will result in the loss of your deposit. No exceptions.
The deposits can be paid to the following account:
Xotica Tattoo Company (business account)

Account Number: 60202327

Sort Code: 60-08-20

Reference: Your Full Name

Alternatively, it can also be paid cash in the shop.

Custom Drawings
If you are in any way unsure whether you want to commit to an appointment, we offer a design option. You will be required to leave a £50 deposit, taken off the eventual price of your tattoo. The process will take approximately 2 weeks and a design will be created to the specifications discussed with your artist. Only once you are 100% happy with your design do you have the option of booking in your appointment. Should your idea differ substantially from what was originally discussed, you may be required to leave another deposit for a fresh design.

FAQ's

Aftercare

"When should I take off the clingfilm?"
Remove the clingfilm the morning after getting your tattoo.

"Do I need to re-wrap my tattoo after I’ve removed the initial clingfilm?"
No.

"How should I take care of my tattoo?"
Remove the clingfilm the morning after getting your tattoo and give it a wash with warm soapy water. Pat it dry gently and apply cocoa butter twice a day for the next two weeks. Do not leave the tattoo slathered in cocoa butter, it should just have a slight sheen.

"Can I still go to the gym?"
You shouldn’t go to the gym on the day you get your tattoo, but after that is fine. If possible, avoid working on the specific area of your tattoo too soon (e.g. if you’ve had part of your sleeve done, it might be better to focus on other parts of the body in the few days immediately after getting your tattoo). After working out, give your tattoo a wash to remove any sweat, gently pat it dry and apply cocoa butter to keep it moisturised.

"My new tattoo is really itchy. Is it infected?"
It’s unlikely. Tattoo itching is a very normal part of the healing process, especially if scabs have formed. Just remember to keep up with the aftercare routine to make sure your tattoo is sufficiently moisturised. Do not itch your tattoo or peel off any scabs prematurely. If the itching is unbearable, slap it don’t scratch it!

"Can I bath/swim?"
Avoid soaking your new tattoo for two weeks. You may shower, but avoid leaving your new tattoo under the water for long. Soaking your tattoo will soften the scabs, making them easier to come off prematurely and take some of the ink with them.

"Can I use a tanning bed?"
Avoid using a tanning bed and going out in the sun to tan while your tattoo is healing. After it’s healed, you can tan, but we advise that you wear sun cream.

"My tattoo has finished healing but looks faded, what can I do?"
Tattoos can have a slightly cloudy/shiny layer of skin over them during the last stage of the healing process, so do make sure that the tattoo you’re looking at is FULLY healed. If it is, know that tattoos can look up to 40% lighter when healed. Here at Xotica we offer free touch ups for our customers. Get in touch and we’ll sort out a booking.
